What happened in 2026

The 28th festival ran from Wednesday, June 3, to Saturday, June 6, 2026, according to Visit Tupelo’s listing. The 2027 festival is expected to follow the same shape, but the organizers have not confirmed it.

  • Wednesday, June 3: One Town, One Legend Gala, a ticketed dinner with tribute artist performances.
  • Thursday, June 4: “Becoming Experience” Youth Day and Competition at the Elvis Presley Birthplace.
  • Thursday to Saturday: the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition and concerts at the Lyric Theatre, 201 N. Broadway St.
  • Saturday, June 6: Running with the King 5K, on a route past Veterans Park and the Elvis Presley Birthplace.

Earlier festivals kept to the first half of June: the 26th ran June 6-9, 2024, and the 27th June 4-8, 2025, the festival website shows.

The tribute artist competition

The Tupelo Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition is the heart of the weekend. Riley Jenkins won in 2026. Recent winners, as the festival lists them:

Youth day at the Birthplace

The “Becoming Experience” Youth Day and Competition is held at the Elvis Presley Birthplace and sponsored by the Birthplace and the Tupelo Elvis Presley Fan Club. Places are limited, and 2027 registration is “coming soon.” The festival publishes this traditional schedule for the day:

  • 8:30 a.m.: registration at the Elvis Presley Birthplace
  • 9 a.m.: workshops with Elvis tribute artists
  • Noon: lunch, provided
  • 1 p.m.: youth competition in the Birthplace auditorium (a ticketed event)

RJ Hursey won the youth competition in 2026, and Dawson Horn in 2025.

The festival website says 2027 ticket information is coming soon. In 2026 the gala, the tribute artist competition concerts and the youth competition were ticketed. We will add 2027 prices here when the organizers publish them.

Road closures, parking and what to know

  • Closures and parking: the organizers had not published street closures or parking plans for 2027 by Oct. 16, 2026. Call the Main Street association at 662-841-6598 nearer the festival.
  • Rain, pets and strollers: no policy is posted yet. The main competition is indoors at the Lyric Theatre.
