School zones and district lines do not follow the city limits or Tupelo mailing addresses, and some addresses near the city are in the Lee County School District. Inside the Tupelo district, only the kindergarten-to-fifth-grade schools have zones, shown on the district’s K-5 attendance zone map (PDF). Each zone has two schools: one for the youngest grades and one for the later elementary grades. Every district student then goes to Milam Elementary for sixth grade, Tupelo Middle School and Tupelo High School.

The high school and the district are scored out of 1,000 points and the other schools out of 700, so compare a school only with schools of the same type. The state raised its standards this year and says 2025-26 grades set a new baseline that “cannot be compared” to earlier years, according to its guide to the system (PDF). State points by school
The chart shows each school’s 2025-26 total from the state’s results file. On the 700-point scale, an A needed 457 points, a B 402 and a C 352. Tupelo High, on the 1,000-point scale, needed 689 for a B and 769 for an A. State tests start in third grade, so the figures the state lists for the pre-K and K-2 schools are not from tests taken in those buildings; each school’s page explains what its report card holds.
