Where to find Tupelo and Lee County public notices: the Daily Journal's legal notices, Mississippi's statewide notice site, city bids and council agendas.

Last checked Oct. 16, 2026. This page is an index, not the official publication of any notice. In Mississippi, most legal notices must be published in a qualifying newspaper; the legally binding version is the one in that newspaper or posted by the government body.

Public notices tell you about zoning and rezoning hearings, tax and budget hearings, bid requests, foreclosure sales, estate claims and court summonses. This index points to where Tupelo and Lee County notices appear, so you can check them yourself.

Where to look

The Daily Journal

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, published in Tupelo, runs legal notices in print and posts them in its online legal announcements section. On Oct. 16 the section listed Lee County Chancery Court notices, a foreclosure trustee’s notice, a bid notice for a construction project and a notice for maintenance work, among others. Each carries a reference number you can quote if you call the paper about it.

Statewide newspaper notices

The Mississippi Press Association’s public notice site collects legal notices published in member newspapers across the state and is free to search. Use it to find foreclosure sales, estate notices, summonses by publication, bid requests and government budget notices for Lee County.

City of Tupelo

  • Public hearings: the Tupelo City Council holds public hearings during its regular meetings, on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The Oct. 20 agenda, for example, lists hearings on two changes to the Tupelo Development Code and on lot mowing. Agendas and full packets are on Municode Meetings.
  • Planning and zoning: rezoning and variance requests go before city committees before the council votes. Meeting days are in our building permits and zoning guide.
  • Bids: the Finance Department posts project bid information through the City of Tupelo bids portal.
  • Budgets and audits: the city’s budgets and annual audits are on the Finance page. The city’s fiscal year runs Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.

Lee County

Lee County’s own website was not loading when we checked. Property tax, appraisal and land redemption records for the county can be searched through Delta Computer Systems, which the City of Tupelo links from its Finance page; that is also where tax-sale redemptions are paid. For deeds and other recorded documents, call the Lee County Chancery Clerk, 662-432-2100.

State meeting notices

State boards and agencies post meeting notices on the Mississippi Public Meeting Notice website, run by the Department of Finance and Administration. Pick the state agency, then the public body.
