Egg hunts
Tombigbee State Park Easter Egg Hunt. The park’s 2026 hunt ran from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, with children 4 and under staged at the ball field and children 5 and older at the playground, followed by picnics, according to the state parks event page. Park entry is $2 a person, and children under 5 get in free. The 2027 date is not out yet; call Stefan Russell at the park, 662-842-7669. The park is about six miles south of Tupelo.
Children’s Fishing Rodeo. Not an egg hunt, but the city’s Easter-weekend family event in 2026: Tupelo Parks and Recreation’s free rodeo for ages 3 to 15 ran from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the lake in Veterans Memorial Park. Registration starts at 8 a.m. on site; bring lawn chairs, rods, bait and tackle, the department’s 2026 Leisure Service Guide (PDF) says. The 2027 date will be in next year’s guide; call 662-841-6440.
Churches across Tupelo hold their own egg hunts; most announce them to their members a few weeks before Easter. Churches and groups can send us their hunts and we will list them with dates and ages.

Tupelo Parks and Recreation’s 2026 calendar listed a Harrisburg Baptist Church Morning Sunrise Service at the Ballard Park Stage on Sunday, March 29, 2026. We will add the 2027 service when the church or the city announces it. For other services, check your congregation’s website; we list services only when a church publishes the time.

No Tupelo restaurant had posted a 2027 Easter menu by Oct. 16, 2026. These serve brunch on Sundays on their regular hours, from each restaurant’s own site:

Shopping for Easter
The Downtown Tupelo Spring Open House shows off spring merchandise “just in time for Easter shopping,” the Main Street association says. In 2026 it was Saturday, March 28, with a fashion show and auction for the GumTree Museum of Art; the 2027 date is not out yet.
What is open on Easter
- Elvis Presley Birthplace: open on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.; it closes only on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Its grounds, including the church where Elvis first sang in public, are open 24 hours.
- The Mall at Barnes Crossing: regular Sunday hours are noon to 6 p.m.; check the mall’s site for Easter hours.
